A very quick newsletter this week, as I'm juggling childcare and you're mostly all on holiday anyway.
I'm in
’s newsletter this week, sharing more on SEN - in particular our journey as a family. I could have written ten times the words and still have things to say, but this is a decent snapshot of the issues. My survey is still open - probably for another week or so - and you can complete it here.
Workless Households
There are stats out on workless households, which includes regional figures, as well as local authority ones.
It includes a regional table for reasons for worklessness, and you can see how the North East compares. Although, to be honest I can only see small variations not any big “ah-ha!” revelations.
I've not delved into the local authority figures, but I'd expect variation across the region, but generally to not perform brilliantly against the national averages.
Baby Names
This is always fun - baby names are out.
If you're in the Top 100 (surprisingly, I'm not), you can see how your name has changed in popularity over the past 30 years in an interactive tool and also look further back in a spreadsheet.
There are also looks at the most popular girls and boys names by region.
Anyone with parents of young children will have heard all of this names on the playground, and will be able to congratulate themselves either on their originality, or on their ability to correctly predict trends.
Getting in touch
I'm on arlen@arlenpettitt.co.uk, although I'm working sporadically across the rest of August and early September, I'm then around through to the end of the year.
Let me know if you fancy a coffee or a chat about upcoming projects.
